Effective Date: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the My Value App (the “App”) and all related digital properties operated by My Value Applications (“MVA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It describes how MVA collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal and professional information you voluntarily enter into the App.
The My Value App is licensed by Torch Solutions Group (“TSG”) in connection with the Meaningful Competence® Consultant Certification program. TSG is a separate legal entity with its own privacy policy. MVA’s obligations under this policy are independent of TSG’s policies. Where you access the App through TSG’s Sites, your use of the App is governed by this MVA Privacy Policy, not TSG’s.
The My Value App is built on a fundamental principle: you own your data. The information you enter into the App—your performance metrics, professional stories, assessments, and development records—is yours. MVA does not claim ownership of your content. We store and process it solely to provide the App’s services to you.
You control who sees your data. MVA will not share your personal or professional information with your employer, former employer, or any third party without your explicit action or legal compulsion.
MVA collects two categories of information: account information required to operate the App, and professional content you voluntarily enter to use the App’s features.
To create and manage your account, we collect:
Name.
Email address.
Telephone number (optional).
General location (city, state, country).
Payment information, routed directly through a payment vendor—MVA does not retain financial data.
The core function of the App is to help you identify, measure, and communicate the value you produce. To do so, you may voluntarily enter the following types of information:
Job Performance Metrics
Quantitative and qualitative data you input to document your Relevant Business Results and Value-Added Outputs, including production figures, performance targets, and outcome measurements.
Personal Professional Stories
Narrative accounts you write describing your contributions, accomplishments, and the context in which you produced results. These stories are authored entirely by you.
Assessment Results
Your responses to structured assessments within the App, including the Individual Mesh assessment and other Meaningful Competence® Toolkit evaluations, and the results generated from those responses.
Employee Development Plans
Records of goals, action steps, and development activities you create within the App to increase the value you produce.
Learning and Event Records
Records of courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, certifications, and other professional development events you log, including dates, providers, and completion status.
Contact Information for References and Sharing
Names and email addresses of contacts you voluntarily enter for the purpose of inviting them to serve as a reference or to share your professional data with them. MVA uses this information only as directed by you. We do not market to, profile, or retain data about your contacts beyond what is necessary to fulfill your request.
We may also collect aggregated, non-identifying data such as usage patterns, device type, browser type, and general location. This information helps us improve the App and is not linked to your identity.
MVA recognizes that the information you enter—particularly performance metrics, personal stories, and assessment results—is sensitive professional information. We treat it accordingly.
We do not share your professional content with your current or former employer.
We do not use your professional content to train artificial intelligence models without your explicit, opt-in consent.
We do not sell your professional content to third parties under any circumstances.
We do not make your professional content available to other App users unless you explicitly choose to share it.
We use your account and professional information to provide the features of the App, including storing your inputs, generating reports and outputs, and enabling the sharing features you choose to activate.
We use your contact information to deliver important account communications, respond to support requests, and—with your consent—send product announcements and helpful information. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand how subscribers use the App and to improve its features, performance, and design. This data cannot be used to identify you.
When you choose to share your professional data with a contact or invite someone to serve as a reference, we use the contact information you provide solely to deliver that communication. We do not retain contact data beyond what is required to fulfill your request.
We may use or retain your information as required to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful legal process, or protect the rights and safety of our users.
If you do not wish to receive optional communications from MVA, you may opt out at any time by:
Clicking the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email, or
Sending an email request to [email protected].
Important communications related to your account, billing, or security are not subject to opt-out.
The App uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze usage patterns. Some cookies are essential to the operation of the App. Others improve your experience but are not strictly required.
You may disable cookies through your browser or device settings. Certain App features may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.
MVA retains your account and professional data for two (2) years from your last active use of the App. We retain data for this period because subscribers who return after a gap benefit from having their previously entered information available.
If you cancel your subscription, your data will be retained for the remainder of the two-year period unless you request earlier deletion. After the retention period, data that is not required for legal or business purposes will be deleted or anonymized.
You may request deletion of your data at any time as described in the “Access to Your Information” section below.
In the event of a data breach that is reasonably likely to result in risk to your rights or interests, MVA will notify affected individuals by email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, to the extent reasonably practicable. Where 72-hour notification is not achievable, MVA will provide notice as soon as possible with an explanation of the delay.
Breach notifications will describe what occurred, the categories of information involved, the steps MVA is taking in response, and guidance on steps you may take to protect yourself. Where required by applicable law, MVA will also notify relevant regulatory authorities.
MVA works with third-party service providers to operate the App, including hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and customer support. These providers receive only the personal information required to perform their specific services and are contractually obligated to protect it.
When you use the App’s sharing or reference features, you direct MVA to send communications to contacts whose names and email addresses you have provided. By entering a contact’s information, you represent that you have their permission to share their contact details with MVA for this purpose. MVA will use that information only as directed by you.
MVA may disclose personal information when required by law, court order, or lawful government request, or where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or protect the safety of our users.
If MVA undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale, your personal information may be transferred to the successor entity. Any such transfer will be subject to the same privacy commitments described in this policy.
MVA does not sell your personal information or your professional content to any third party for any purpose.
MVA uses commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to personal and professional data is limited to MVA personnel and contractors who require it to perform their job functions, and those individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations.
SSL encryption is used on all pages and connections through which personal information is transmitted. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You may access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal and professional information at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at [INSERT MVA EMAIL]. MVA will respond within 30 days of receiving your request. Where reasonable and permitted by law, MVA will fulfill such requests in good faith. We reserve the right to decline requests that require undue technical effort or where retention is required by law or legitimate business need.
Important: Deletion of your account data is permanent and cannot be undone. Your career portfolio—including performance metrics, personal stories, assessment results, development plans, and learning records—will be permanently erased. We strongly encourage you to export your data before submitting a deletion request. You can export your data at any time through your account settings.
Deletion of your account also removes any contact names and email addresses you have entered for reference or sharing purposes. Those contacts will not be notified of the deletion.
The App or related communications may contain links to third-party websites, including Torch Solutions Group’s Sites. Information collected by third parties is governed by their own privacy policies. MVA is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party site.
The My Value App is designed for working adults. We do not offer any products or services targeted to individuals under the age of 18, and COPPA does not apply. If MVA discovers or has reasonable belief that it has received personal information from an individual under 18, we will delete that information promptly.
MVA may collect the following categories of personally identifiable information:
Name and email address
Telephone number and general location
Professional information: job performance metrics, personal stories, assessment results, development plans, and learning records
Contact information you enter for references or sharing purposes
California residents may request, once per year, information about any third parties with whom MVA has shared personal information for their direct marketing purposes during the previous calendar year. To submit such a request, email [email protected] with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line and include the domain name of the site or app you are inquiring about, your name, address, and email address. MVA will respond within thirty (30) days.
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, please contact us at [email protected] before using the App, as additional terms may apply.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When material changes are made, MVA will post a notice on its website and within the App, along with a link to the updated policy. Your continued use of the App following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of those changes. Information collected prior to any change will be used according to the rules that applied at the time of collection.
Questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy may be directed to [email protected].
